the show goes on

i found this article in today’s post fascinating. Maybe because these are my people, the theatrical. Those who don’t have a choice but to make theater. Even with friends and colleges dying. Even with no money. You make theater. You talk about theater.  Even if the audience is empty, you keep performing.

Despite the long odds and perils, the actors say, there’s nowhere they’d rather be than onstage.

“What we have is love of theater,” the play’s director, Kahil Khalid, said one day, standing in the darkened and dusty lobby of the once-grand theater. “If we wanted money, we would go looting.”
