RIP George Carlin

I find it very interesting that the way I learn news of deaths these days is by seeing it in people’s status messages on facebook. I log on in the morning and five or six people are eulogizing george carlin in 5 or 6 words. In a short little status proclaiming a death and their sadness. I guess this is the new mode of communication and it feels effective in the same way that people would light smoke signals or blow rams horns from mountain top to mountain top to spread news.

Anyway, George Carlin passed away last night. He was to receive this years Mark Twain lifetime achievement award in comedy from the Kennedy Center and there is no doubt of his influence and genius. Click here to read the Post’s obit.
