worth a look: kosher for passover

The first White House Seder!

The first White House Seder!

and speaking of passover, did you know that charoset (mine was the delicious fruit filled iraqi variety) is not only symbolic of mortar but also of sex?

American Theater Magazine is celebrating 25 years and has asked a variety of Theater professionals to describe where theatre will be in another 25 years. Good food for thought here. Though I haven’t had time to read all of them. These are certainly the questions racing around my head.

Anthony Neilson tells theater makers of the world to not be so boring – and I agree with him:

Contrary to the popular maxim, do think about your audience. Ask yourself if your non-theatre-going friends or relatives would at least get the gist of it. If they wouldn’t, your work is not yet done. (That said, never compromise on the grounds of what they may be offended by. Truth is not always comfortable but a dishonest play is usually dull.)
